The built-in ephemeris covers the years from 1900 to 2020 and is easy to use. Let’s take the first line above as an example.
1900-01-01 M69PD V39FD M04PD J37FD S12FD U30FD N19PR P31PR
The date reads from left to right, 1900, January 1. Next are the eight planets in order than can be retrograde. They are: “M=Mercury, V=Venus, M=Mars, J=Jupiter, S=Saturn, U=Uranus, N=Neptune, and P=Pluto. Taking the entry for Mercury as an example:
M69PD
This reads: Mercury, 69%, PD= Past and Direct Motion. The percentage is straight forward. The word tow-letter combinations are:
FD = Future and Direct
FR = Future and Retrograde
PR = Past and Retrograde
PD = Past and Direct
Look up the date of your birth, write down the combinations following the above codes and look them up in the table of contents, planet by planet.
You will find three possible interpretations for each two-letter combination. They are numbered 1, 2, and 3 and have to do with the percentage for each planet.
If the percentage is 15 or less, use interpretation #1. If the percentage is 16 to 59, use interpretation #2.
If the percentage is 60 or more, use interpretation #2.
